This is one of the concerts that is especially close to my heart, based on E.T.A. Hoffmann's Christmas story, created in collaboration with the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra and conductor Dilyaver Osmanov.

THE SPECTRE’S BRIDE is a gripping ghost story that unfolds between longing, hope, despair, and terror—until the redeeming dawn. An orphaned girl waits for years for the return of her missing beloved, who finally appears to her as a bridegroom from hell, forcing her on a nocturnal ride to the cemetery. Passing decayed marshes, surrounded by will-o’-the-wisps and the howling of wild beasts, they race through the darkness until the first crow of the rooster and the first rays of the sun put an end to the haunting and set the bride free.
Antonín Dvořák’s operatic cantata THE SPECTRE’S BRIDE (1884) is based on the dark legend Svatební košile (literally: “The Wedding Shirts”) by Czech poet Karel Jaromír Erben. For the first time, this powerful work—rarely heard on stage—can now be experienced at Theater Hof in a concert performance featuring soloists, the opera chorus, and the Hof Symphony Orchestra. As a special highlight, internationally acclaimed sand artist Lana (Svetlana) Telbukh will bring the imaginative and emotional world of the legend to life through live sand animation.

Philharmonisches Konzert mit faszinierender Sandanimation von Svetlana Telbukh, präsentiert von der Clara-Schumann-Philharmoniker Plauen-Zwickau unter der Leitung von GMD Leo Siberski.
Die Sandanimation bereichert die Vierte Symphonie, indem sie die emotionale Reise von der Dunkelheit ins Licht visuell interpretiert, wobei jede musikalische Phrase für Befreiung und Triumph steht. Das Konzertprogramm umfasst Peer Baierleins Davids Bündler (Auftragswerk, Uraufführung), Robert Schumanns Klavierkonzert in a-Moll, Op. 54, gespielt von Ray Harada, Gewinner des Internationalen Schumann-Wettbewerbs 2024, und die Symphonie Nr. 4 in d-Moll, Op. 120.

At some point, I realized that together we were creating a fairy tale.
In 2013, Lana and I traveled to the site of the Peer Gynt Project. Her artistic craftsmanship was a wonderful complement to the music of Edvard Grieg. At some point, I realized that together we were creating a fairy tale.
Fate brought us together again in the project "Magic Song." According to the schedule, "Carol of the Bells" featured Al Di Meola, Amoury Gutierrez, Ed Calle, and other world-renowned artists. Once again, Lana demonstrated her remarkable ability to create a fairy tale.
I continue to follow the work of this artist, who makes our world more colorful through the art of sand.
